Declan Rice was arguably Arsenal’s Man of the Match against Chelsea at the weekend.
The midfielder scored a brilliant goal against the Blues, and he played a huge part in helping the Gunners rescue a draw from the jaws of defeat.
This was a continuation of Rice’s brilliant start to the season, and the case for the former West Ham man being a world-class player only continues to get stronger in the eyes of some.
Speaking on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel, Kevin Campbell has shared his verdict on Rice, and he believes that he’s absolutely in that world-class bracket nowadays, claiming that there simply aren’t many better players in the world in his position.

Rice is world-class
Campbell shared his verdict on the ‘fast’ midfielder.
“He got to the final of the Euros internationally, World Cup quarters. If he’s not world class, show me how many players are better than him in the world? One or two? He’s excelling. If he’s not world class now, I don’t know when he will be world class,” Campbell said.

Getting there
Whether or not you believe Rice to be world-class or not very much depends on your definition of the phrase.
He’s clearly a talented player, but he’s only played a handful of games for a top club, and he’s yet to have a real standout Champions League showing,
Make no mistake about it, Rice is heading in the right direction to be considered world-class, but he still has plenty left to prove if he’s going to prove that he is indeed at that next level.
Regardless, Rice’s performance against Chelsea was impressive, and without the England international, Rice would likely have been handed their first league loss of the season at Stamford Bridge.
