Manchester United’s players have been reacting on Twitter after they came from behind to grab a late equaliser in their encounter with rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

James Milner’s first-half penalty was cancelled out by a late Zlatan Ibrahimovic header in a thrilling and intense clash, with both sides likely to feel aggrieved that they didn’t snatch a winner.

Jose Mourinho’s side will be rueing all of their missed chances, with Paul Pogba, Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all going close in the first-half before Liverpool’s opener.

The result sees United’s winning run come to an end at nine games, but extends their unbeaten run to sixteen matches in all competition; Liverpool, on the other hand, now sit seven points behind leaders Chelsea.

With Mourinho saying before the game that he needed the home supporters to create an intimidating atmosphere, David de Gea and Anthony Martial were the first to praise the United fans.

Ander Herrera, one of United’s better players in the heart of the midfield against Liverpool, was pleased with his side’s never-say-die attitude that led to Ibrahimovic’s goal.

And finally, Juan Mata and Matteo Darmian commented on how intense it was against fierce rivals Liverpool, with Mata linking his personal blog with a more detailed reaction to the match.

Does the result on Sunday now mean United’s title hopes are over? What’s the best they can achieve this season?
