Michael Carrick – Yet another efficient performance in the heart of Manchester United’s midfield on Monday, keeping West Ham’s attacking threat to a minimum after the sending-off. Played a sublime pass to Rashford on the left-wing in the build-up to their first goal. 7.
Paul Pogba – May not have scored or assisted against West Ham but he ran the show in midfield with another exceptional performance. Pressed Bilic’s side for the whole 90 minutes and kept danger man Payet out of the game so much so that he was substituted. Has really grown into this Manchester United side under Mourinho, and it’s scary to think he’s still only 23. 8.
Ander Herrera – His performance was slightly overshadowed by those of midfield partners Carrick and Pogba, but he got his reward for an industrious match with the assist for Ibrahimovic. Should have scored in the dying moments but his volley was well saved by Randolph. 7.
