Henrikh Mkhitaryan – He was a danger throughout and caused the Hull defence a lot of problems. It was his assist for the opening goal, but it wasn’t what we have come to expect from the Armenian. A powerful header back across goal laid it on a plate for Juan Mata and his physicality has improved hugely since he moved to England. 7
Marcus Rashford – After his impressive performance against Reading, he showed the inconsistency that still remains a problem in his game, somewhat unsurprisingly given he is only 19-years-old. He was lively and the confidence in his game was obvious, but his end product wasn’t as good as it was on Saturday. 6
Anthony Martial – He didn’t do a lot during his appearance and will be disappointed that he didn’t do more to impress. That said, he worked hard and rarely gave the ball away when he did have possession. 5
Jesse Lingard – The winger came on when his side were already in the lead and he did little to influence the game. 5
Marouane Fellaini – He came on to help see the game out and showed his aerial dominance as he increased Manchester United’s lead with a powerful header. 6
