Paul Pogba – It was another dominant performance from Paul Pogba and he is really beginning to perform at Old Trafford. He managed to have a 100% aerial win rate; 100% tackle success and got five shots in on goal. It was certainly a complete performance as he dictated the tempo with some sumptuous passing, while working hard out of possession. He came close to scoring after hitting the post from a free kick. 9
Ander Herrera – The Spaniard has arguably been the best player at the club this season as he can do everything in the centre of the park. He finished the match with four completed tackles and three interceptions. His off-the-ball role was more important in this one as he was playing alongside Paul Pogba rather than Michael Carrick. The 27-year-old adapted well and deserves praise once again. 7
Juan Mata – He is one of the most pleasing players to watch and he showed glimpses of his ability this evening with some nice dribbles and passing in the final third. The Spaniard scored the opening goal showing his intelligent movement to get into the right place at the right time. 7
Wayne Rooney – It was another poor performance from Wayne Rooney and he failed to score the goal required to move ahead of Sir Bobby Charlton as the club’s leading scorer in his own right. He looks off the pace at times and is unable to influence the game as much as he once did. Rooney is unlikely to retain his place when the Premier League returns this weekend. 5
