Antonio Valencia – The 31-year-old has been one of the more consistent players this season and he was once again impressive against Hull City. He delivered a solid performance at right back offering attacking support when he could. In possession, he was incredibly reliable, finishing the match with a 91% passing accuracy. 7

Chris Smalling – He is finally becoming a regular under Jose Mourinho and he showed his ability this evening. Although Hull aren’t the best offensively, Smalling helped his side to a clean sheet and won five of his six aerial duels. 7

Phil Jones – It was a relatively quiet afternoon for Phil Jones as Smalling was the more dominant of the two centre backs. He has done well since his return from injury and played his part in another impressive defensive performance. If these two become the first choice centre back pairing for Manchester United, then that will have positive ramifications for the national team. 6

Matteo Darmian – A lot of Manchester United’s attacks came down their left hand side and the Italian was important to that. He offered good support, while his distribution was very effective as he ended the match with a 91% pass accuracy. Darmian got the assist for second goal with an excellent cross for Marouane Fellaini. 7
