Michael Carrick – He has made a huge impact since coming into the first team as he offers a calming presence in the midfield. The Englishman is happy to stay deep, which provides Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera with the freedom to get forward to join attacks. He was impressive on Sunday with his reading of the game and launching attacks from deep. 6
Ander Herrera – The Spaniard has arguably been Manchester United’s best player this season and he delivered another complete midfield display on Sunday. He broke up play well in the midfield and played a key role in the home side’s attack. 8
Paul Pogba – It was one of his best performances in a Manchester United and he was unlucky not to get on the score-sheet. He threatened on a few occasions and hit the bar from an excellent free kick. The Frenchman will be hoping to kick on from here. 7
Henrikh Mkhitaryan – The media and supporters were baffled when he wasn’t in the team, but he is now taking his opportunity in the first team. He was excellent in attack with some intelligent link up play, while he took his goal superbly. There is a lot more to come from the Armenian and supporters will be hoping his injury isn’t as bad as it looked. 9
