Michael Carrick – He provides balance to the midfield and the side have been much improved since he came back into the team. The midfielder is reliable in possession and allows Paul Pogba to get into more advanced positions. That was evident on Saturday. 6

Ander Herrera – The Spaniard was excellent on Saturday evening, completing seven ball retrievals and 82% of his passes. He is developing into a complete midfielder and a great foil for Paul Pogba in the centre of the park. 8

Paul Pogba – Although he wasn’t as good as he was during the week, it was another impressive performance. He is so good in possession and rarely gives the ball away, as displayed by his 89% pass completion at the Hawthornes. The Frenchman is also beginning to become more involved in the final third, which is where he needs to be. 7

Jesse Lingard – It was a great chance for the winger to show Mourinho what he can do and he took it. His assist for the opening goal was superb and his movement caused West Brom problems all evening. He was lively, but also worked hard defensively and deserves credit for his role in the side’s victory. 7
