Antonio Valencia – 6
Consistent and solid defensively, as has become typical of the full-back, but his reluctance to get forward meant that he struggled to really impose his influence onto the game.
Eric Bailly – 7
Like his partner, he matched Diego Costa’s physicality and looked composed despite the threat posed by the Spaniard. Strong on the ball and in the air, he appears to grow more comfortable alongside Rojo with every game.
Marcos Rojo – 7
Seemed to really take advantage of the opportunity to battle with Costa after their clashes at Stamford Bridge, he wound up the Chelsea forward but remained responsible when it came to his own defending.
Matteo Darmian – 7
His best display of the season so far, filled in as a third centre-back at times and whilst he didn’t get too involved in the physical battles, he added a bit of extra security at the back.
