How Manchester United rated in their imperious 2-0 win over Chelsea

After two defeats at the hand of his former club already this season, Jose Mourinho ensured that this was not the case at Old Trafford in a crucial clash as Manchester United continued their chase for the top four with a superb victory over the league leaders to reignite the title race.

It took just seven minutes of a controversial decision to allow Ander Herrera to pick up, almost literally, the ball and play a beautiful ball into Marcus Rashford to coolly beat Asmir Begovic. 

Herrera was once again at the heart of the action as he rounded off a brilliant performance with a powerful finish to beat Chelsea’s second choice goalkeeper again in the second half to make sure of the result.

David de Gea – 6 

Protected well by his defence and midfield, De Gea would have expected to be much busier. One careless moment almost gave the Blues an opportunity to equalise when the home side had just a one-goal lead.
