Antonio Valencia – Had one of his best performances this season in a scintillating show of over-lapping and darting runs. Scared Watford’s defence with his pace and sudden acceleration, and was unlucky that one of his crosses wasn’t turned home by Ibrahimovic. 8.

Eric Bailly – Showcased his natural composure on the ball with a delicate turn within the first 60 seconds and this set the tone for another commanding performance. Pushed out of defence numerous times in possession, driving at Watford’s midfield to turn defence into attack. 8.

Chris Smalling – Seems to be getting back to his best with each game he plays, battling excellently at Old Trafford on Saturday. Switched off a little during the second-half as Watford began to threaten United’s goal, but another clean sheet will be building his confidence nicely. 7.

Daley Blind – Continues to look out of his depth in the left-back position, frequently losing sight of Watford’s midfielders making runs in behind. Supported the midfield well and was assured on the ball, but will surely be replaced when Rojo and Shaw return. 6.
