Bacary Sagna – With rumours increasing that his time at the Etihad is coming to an end this summer, he did nothing to convince Guardiola to offer him a new deal. Caught out of position too many times and wasn’t resilient enough as the hosts attacked in the second-half. May have missed his chance. 5.

John Stones – Led the City back-line extremely well, keeping his discipline and communicating well with Kolarov and Fernandinho who were both out of position. Made an excellent sliding challenge to deny King inside the box, and fully deserved his clean sheet. One of his best games this season. 8.

Aleksander Kolarov – Was chosen at centre-back over Otamendi and had a relatively quiet but solid match. Dealt well with the threat of Ibe and Afobe, and fizzed a shot in for Boruc to punch away late on, but he is unlikely to start the next match. 6.

Fernandinho – Was a peculiar choice at left-back for City’s trip to Bournemouth on Monday and was guilty of jumping in to tackles at times, but all things considering he had a decent match. Didn’t allow the hosts to exploit his flank despite his defensive inexperience. 6.
