How Manchester City rated as they climbed to second with victory over Bournemouth

Manchester City took advantage of Tottenham’s slip-up on Saturday as they saw off Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Monday evening to go second in the Premier League.

After Gabriel Jesus was forced off in the opening fifteen minutes through injury, the visitors went ahead through Raheem Sterling’s instinctive finish after good work from the dangerous Leroy Sane.

Bournemouth immediately responded through Josh King – only for it to be ruled out for a shove on John Stones – and the hosts were indebted to Artur Boruc for preventing City from extending their half-time advantage.

Aguero then popped up just after the hour-mark to turn home Sterling’s low cross – despite replays showing the last touch came off Bournemouth’s Tyrone Mings – as City put the result to bed.
