Adam Lallana – 5

His worst display of the season, the former Southampton captain didn’t provide enough cover to Clyne and lost the ball a number of times. He wasn’t the only one to let the side down, but it was an evening to forget.

Daniel Sturridge – 5 

Constantly dropped too deep and seemed to give up far too early on. He didn’t have great service, but when he did receive the ball in the right positions he failed to capitalise and his finishing was poor.

Roberto Firmino – 6

The pick of the attack, when he had the ball he looked threatening. The problem was that he wasn’t on the ball anywhere near enough. Challenged Fraser Forster with a strong volley.
