Nathaniel Clyne – 5

Failed to offer much when getting forward down the wing and was too often caught out by the movement of Nathan Redmond moving inside from the right when the Saints got at Liverpool.

Dejan Lovren – 6

Targeted by Southampton fans still angered by how he left the club, he didn’t seem to be affected by that even if his performance was not remarkable. A late goal line clearance was the highlight.

Ragnar Klavan – 5

His amateurish error allowed Nathan Redmond to open the scoring when he failed to clear a simple ball. Failed to convince after that but his costly error was the main blemish.

James Milner – 6

Spent much of the game getting forward rather than defending, his deliveries into the danger area were poor and he looked tired later on, but he was solid when the Saints got at him.
