Threatened at times by the pressure United tried to put on him, but he rarely looked out of place in one of the biggest fixtures of the Premier League calendar.

Dejan Lovren – 7

A real threat at set pieces and solid defensively, his performance will be blighted after he allowed Zlatan Ibrahimovic a yard of space to equalise as the game entered into its final stages.

Ragnar Klavan – 7

Looked a little nervous at times to start with but grew in confidence and coped well with the physicality of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in attack and withstood the barrage of attacks late on.

James Milner – 8

Well taken penalty as has become customary for the makeshift left-back, he was tireless throughout and good both in defence and attack. Led the back four well and coped well with United’s attacks on the right even when Antonio Valencia teamed up to make it two against one.
