How Liverpool’s players rated in their 1-1 draw with Manchester United

One of the biggest fixtures of the season, and after the disappointment of “Red Monday” earlier on in the season, the pressure was on both sides at Old Trafford. Liverpool were without four key men in Nathaniel Clyne, Joel Matip, Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho in the starting eleven, but came out fighting. United went into the game in their best run of form in years but Paul Pogba’s bizarre handball allowed James Milner to put his side ahead from the penalty spot. The Reds defended superbly but gave in when Zlatan Ibrahimovic pounced to head in, but given the injuries and form of the two sides at Old Trafford, a point is a valuable point for the Merseyside club.

Simon Mignolet – 8

In fairness, Mignolet would have expected to have been tested more but he did produce two great saves to deny Zlatan Ibrahimovic from a free-kick and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
