Adam Lallana – 6

One acrobatic effort aside, Lallana had a disappointing afternoon as he struggled to influence the game. Grew into the game once he dropped deeper as Divock Origi was introduced and twice went close late on but will still be disappointed by his display.

Roberto Firmino – 9

Excellent header to put his side back in the game and then drew his side level with an even better touch and finish to equalise. One of, if not the only player to come out of the game with any credit.

Philippe Coutinho – 6

Lacking in confidence and clearly still getting back to match sharpness, he had an opportunity to bring his side level at 1-0 but bizarrely cut the ball back and lost possession. Replaced after less than an hour as he rebuilds his fitness.
