Nathaniel Clyne – It was a good defensive display from the full back and he played his part in an important clean sheet with six ball recoveries during the match. However, he wasn’t as threatening in attack as he usually is. 6

Joel Matip – The Cameroon international was arguably the most impressive performer in the Liverpool defence, as he completed six ball recoveries and five clearances. He also dealt well with the aerial threat of West Brom, winning three aerial duels during the match. Although there were a couple of minor errors from the centre back, it was a good performance on the whole. 8

Dejan Lovren – The Croatian is a player that splits the Liverpool fanbase, but he played his part today. It is clear that the Reds are a better team with him in the starting eleven and he underlined that with some dominant defending. 6

James Milner – He played a part in the winning goal with a good free-kick delivery. Defensively, he did very well with five ball recoveries and three successful aerial duels. He may not be a natural left-back, but he has done well this season and delivered another solid performance on Sunday afternoon. 7
