Emre Can – 7

Did the dirty defensive work for the midfield and showed improvement on his recent form. Alexis Sanchez posed more of a threat second half and Can took up the role of trying to cut off his runs inside. Needlessly risked a second yellow with a foul on Theo Walcott.

Georgino Wijnaldum – 8

Worked hard and looked to connect with Lallana when moving forwards whenever possible. Quieter in the second period but was still efficient and did the leg work tracking back. Brilliant run and finish to seal the win in injury time.

Adam Lallana – 8

Incredible energy and pressing from start to finish, he didn’t allow Arsenal a moment’s peace. Creative when getting forward and always looking to create space, it was a top display from the midfielder.
