Nathaniel Clyne – 7

Impressive in the first half but was pinned back by Alexis Sanchez in the second half, restricting his bursts forwards. Managed that threat well and was responsible in when he could and couldn’t get forwards.

Joel Matip – 7

Caught out positionally for the Arsenal goal but it would be harsh to criticise him alone for that with the midfield missing, Solid at the back and a threat at set pieces, even if he couldn’t make a perfect contact on one occasion in the second half.

Ragnar Klavan – 7

Solid both in the air and with the ball at his feet, he wasn’t afraid to get stuck in and did well when it came to the challenge of Olivier Giroud in the air.

James Milner – 7

Brilliant role in setting up Sadio Mane’s strike not long before half time, he remained restrained and didn’t get carried away bombing down the wing. Worked well with Klavan on the left-hand side.
