Liverpool went into this tie with a superb record against other sides in the top six but in woeful form. They turned up on the day though and cruised through the first half, with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane both finding the back of the net before Georgino Wijnaldum made sure with an injury time goal to seal the three points.

Brilliant save to deny Olivier Giroud at the start of the second half but looked a little nervy at times from then on, particularly when on the ball, after an assured display in the first 45 minutes.
