How Kyle Walker feels about joining Everton from Man City this summer after holding talks

Everton have now spoken to Kyle Walker’s representatives at Manchester City to declare their interest in signing the defender this summer, TBR Football understands.

Kyle Walker has just returned to Man City following his loan spell at AC Milan and the Italian side have made it clear that they are not planning a permanent move.

Walker made 16 appearances on loan at the San Siro, but he will now be seeking a new challenge back in England.

As things stand, Walker has 12 months left on his contract at the Etihad, and the defender’s deal is sizable, meaning that City might have to supplement any sort of deal for him to leave.

And given their own need for a right-back, Everton are now seriously interested in a move, a player who David Moyes would be keen to work with next term.

Kyle Walker keen on Everton switch following initial talks

That being said, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Walker would be very open to a move to Everton this summer.

As mentioned, Everton have spoken to Walker’s camp about a potential switch to Merseyside this summer, and there are encouraging signs.

Although, Moyes’ side aren’t the only team showing interest — Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are also considering a move, while the Saudi Pro League have also confirmed their own interest.

However, it’s understood that Walker would much rather stay in England next season, and there is the option of returning to his boyhood club Sheffield United.

But with a place in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad still a possibility, TBR can confirm that there is interest from within the Premier League, with Everton now leading the way.

The Toffees have now touched base with Walker’s camp to gauge his interest in a possible move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium and it’s actually a similar situation to Everton’s interest in Jack Grealish — they are assessing whether the opportunity is realistic.

Jordan Pickford has already given his Kyle Walker verdict

That being said, Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford might be one of those delighted to see Walker arrive on Merseyside, should a deal progress that far.

As when speaking back in 2023, Pickford declared his England teammate as the best right-sided full-back in the world.

He said: “He’s the best right-back in the world for me and he has got to be the quickest player in the world, hasn’t he? There is no doubt.”

Pickford then continued: “He’s won everything. He’s done his career, he helps us as players. But the experience side of him is really good to work with.”

Perhaps at 35 years old Walker might have to let go of his title as the quickest player in the world, but he’s still got a ton of the excellent credentials that Pickford hailed.

That being said, whilst Everton have spoken to both Walker and Grealish, sources have confirmed that there has been no contact with City to this point.

And TBR can also share that Wolverhampton Wanderers are assessing Walker’s situation too given that they are set to lose long-term right-back Nelson Semedo this summer.
