Jurgen Klopp is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, and this will be a huge shift at Anfield.
Klopp has been the Liverpool manager for the best part of 10 years now, and it’s really hard to imagine the Reds without Klopp these days.
This will be a bit of a culture shock to fans and players alike, and one player who may struggle with this news is Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The right-back has never played under any other manager at Liverpool, and as such a unique player with such a bespoke role, it will be interesting to see how he fares under a new gaffer.
Speaking on ESPN, Steve Nicol has been discussing life after Klopp at Liverpool, and he’s said that Alexander-Arnold could struggle without Klopp if he’s asked to play a completely different game.

Alexander-Arnold could struggle
Nicol shared his verdict on the 25-year-old.
“Depending on what kind of coach you bring in, you could knock them back a bit and have a different way of playing. Think of someone like Trent Alexander-Arnold, a different manage with a completely different game, how does that work?” Nicol said.
Will be interesting
Regardless of whether or not you think he will struggle without Klopp, it will certainly be interesting to see how Liverpool’s next manager decides to use Alexander-Arnold.
The England international is such a unique player, and he doesn’t fit into most traditional tactical set-ups.
He’s far from being a traditional right-back, while he’s not quite a midfielder just yet.
Alexander-Arnold has never played under any other manager at club level than Jurgen Klopp, and it will be very intriguing to see what this young man’s future holds once he starts working under a new coach.
Who knows? Perhaps a shift into the midfield could finally happen and Alexander-Arnold can kick on even further.
