Celtic have been hit by a major injury blow this week with the news that skipper Scott Brown may be sidelined for up to a month.
The Daily Record report that the Scottish midfielder will miss out on tomorrow night’s trip to face RB Leipzig as well as the Betfred Cup semi-final against Hearts.
That’s a huge loss for Brendan Rodgers. Reversing Celtic’s historically poor fortunes on the road in Europe is a tough enough ask as it is; the last thing he needs is to lose such a key player.
The timing couldn’t be much worse either, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. The big question Rodgers has to find an answer for now is; how does he go about replacing his captain and talisman?

Rodgers has been full of praise for Calum McGregor’s versatility, technical quality and intelligence this week, and he could be an option to drop deeper and help Celtic keep the ball as much as possible out in Germany.
With Nir Bitton still sidelined with injury, the obvious replacement is Deadline Day signing Youssouf Mulumbu.
The 5ft 10in experienced destroyer has been impressive since his summer arrival and would offer a disciplined shield for the backline on an evening when Celtic will expect to come under the cosh once more.
