It was a much better performance from Crystal Palace as they competed well with a much superior Chelsea side. They defended well and were unlucky not to hold on for a point, but they were punished by Scott Dann switching off for one moment. In attack, they struggled to create clear cut opportunities, but they were coming up against the best defence in the league. 2016 has been an awful year for Palace and they will be hoping that things improve in the new year. Wayne Hennessey – The Welsh international is a weak link in this current Palace side. He didn’t look convincing whenever he was called into action and a better goalkeeper would have come to claim the cross that provided Diego Costa with the opening goal. 4
