In the absence of Diego Costa, the question was always going to be where the goals would come from for Antonio Conte’s team on Saturday evening. Few would have answered with the name of Marcos Alonso. The Spaniard was superb as he calmly pounced to curl a rebound into the bottom corner to open the scorer before firing home a second from 20 yards. He nearly made it three later on, but Pedro grabbed a goal of his own as he linked up well with Willian to head into an empty net to put the score beyond doubt.
