Diego Costa – The striker was always going to be the centre of attention this afternoon as he returned to the Chelsea starting eleven. He was a constant threat and was certainly putting the complete effort in for Antonio Conte. Costa managed to open the scoring with a good finish minutes before half-time and that provided the spark that Chelsea needed to win the game. 7
Eden Hazard – Like Pedro, Hazard wasn’t at his best with the Belgian struggling to produce in the final third. His link-up play was impressive and he showed his quality with a couple of exciting runs, but he didn’t impact the game as much as expected. 6
Willian – The Brazilian was enthusiastic after coming on from the bench and tried to make something happen for his side. However, he didn’t manage to make anything happen and it looked like he was trying too hard at times. 5
Cesc Fabregas – After coming on in the second half, Cesc Fabregas played well and showed that he still has a role to play at Stamford Bridge. He completed two tackles and produced an excellent delivery for the second goal. 7
Michy Batshuayi – The summer signing was only given a few minutes to impress and did nothing to warrant a rating. N/A
