Diego Costa – He has been the player of the season so far and his hot streak continued with an excellent header in the first half to give his side the lead. His movement for the goal was also superb and showed how confident he is at the moment. The one black mark was that he picked up his first yellow card in 11 matches. He will now miss the match on Boxing Day. 7

Eden Hazard – It was great to see the Belgian back on the team-sheet, but he was dealt with well by the Crystal Palace back four. He didn’t influence the match as he would have liked and it made for a frustrating afternoon. 6

Cesc Fabregas – The Spaniard was bright after coming on and got into dangerous positions, providing Chelsea with an extra dimension in attack. 6

Branislav Ivanovic – He came on and added his experience to the defence, helping them hold on to an 11^th successive Premier League victory. 6

Michy Batshuayi – The striker didn’t get enough time to earn a rating, but he should be set for a start on Boxing Day. N/A
