Pedro – 9

Scored with a quality finish and also set up Branislav Ivanovic in the second half, the Spaniard didn’t look out of place in the wing-back role but was rarely tested defensively. He continued his fine form which is amongst the best he’s experienced in his whole career.

Cesc Fabregas – 9

Brilliant with an excellent array of passing. His vision is second to none and he showed Antonio Conte just what the midfield had been missing with some great balls over the top of the Brentford defence. Influential in the victory.

Nathaniel Chalobah – 7

Bossed the midfield and certainly wasn’t afraid to get stuck in. His over-exuberance nearly cost him though with a late yellow card and another challenge fortunate not to concede a late penalty, but he certainly looked strong enough to compete for a first team place.

Nathan Ake – 7

Starting as the left wing-back, Ake lacked the attacking threat that Marcos Alonso usually would, but later moved into a central defensive role where he looked composed and broke up Brentford’s attacks well.
