How Chelsea’s players rated as they saw off Brentford in the FA Cup

Antonio Conte opted to experiment and rest a number of key players, trialing others in new positions against Championship side Brentford, with one eye on the midweek clash with Liverpool in the Premier League. The Bees have been disappointing in the league this season and came up against a side fielding four youth products. Willian opened the scoring with a great free-kick and Pedro added another with a great finish before half-time. If it wasn’t for goalkeeper Dan Bentley it could have been more, but he was powerless to stopping either substitute Branislav Ivanovic’s finish or Michy Batshuayi’s penalty which sealed a 4-0 win for the Blues to put them into the next round.

A clean sheet on what could be his last appearance for the club, he made several good stops in the first half. A spectator for much of the second period, he can be pleased with his contribution.
