Thibaut Courtois – The Belgian goalkeeper made six saves during the match and helped restrict City to only one goal. However, it was his poor kick that directly led to Sergio Aguero’s goal and he will be disappointed with that. 6
Kurt Zouma – The centre-back has been on a long road back to first team football after picking up a serious injury last season. He completed four ball retrievals and was comfortable in possession, but he was sacrificed at half-time. 5
David Luiz – It was a typically confident display from the Brazilian as he launched several attacks from deep. That said, he was shaky in defence at times and struggled with the movement of Sergio Aguero. 5
Gary Cahill – He was arguably the weakest of the three first choice centre backs during the first half of the season and there was talk that Conte was looking to replace him. However, he was good against Manchester City, completing four ball retrievals and three clearances to relieve pressure on his team. 6
Cesar Azpilicueta – The Spaniard has been excellent for Chelsea this season and he adapted quickly after being moved to right wing back. He won two aerial duels and three ball retrievals during the match. In possession, he was assured and he made one key pass in attack. 8
