Victor Moses – 7
Not quite as effective as he has been at times when going forwards but made one great clearance when seemingly the last man and had a tough evening being pinned back by Robert Snodgrass. Did well to support Cesar Azpilicueta when required.
Cesc Fabregas – 6
Accepted great defensive responsibilities as he was pinned back, particularly before the opening goal. Booked for a foul on Aaron Cresswell which could have been avoided and then took a risk when the ball cannoned off his upper arm just inside the box early in the second half.
N’Golo Kante – 8
It won’t come as a surprise that he never stopped running, but he also did superbly to win the ball which kick-started the counter attack to open the scoring. Constantly pressing and looking to drive the side forward on an immediate counter-attack, he was more defensive minded after Nemanja Matic’s introduction.
Marcos Alonso – 7
A real attacking threat and linked up superbly with Eden Hazard down the left flank, coming close to scoring with one jinking run into the box before poking the ball inches wide.
