How Chelsea rated as they recorded a late 2-1 victory over Stoke City

Victor Moses – 6

Moments of brilliance and a handful of threatening passes, but he rarely looked as if he posed a major threat to the Potters, where he previously played on loan. Is tiredness finally kicking in for the Nigerian?

N’Golo Kante – 8

A typical display from the diminutive midfielder, he refused to give up and broke up play every time that Stoke looked to get forward. It’d be a challenge to recall an incomplete pass from the former Leicester man as he once again showed his importance to the side.

Nemanja Matic – 7

His physicality was much needed against Stoke, perhaps explaining why he was chosen ahead of Cesc Fabregas, and he wasn’t afraid to get stuck in both on the ground and in the air and did the hard work.

Marcos Alonso – 8

Looks more comfortable in the wing back role with every game, he nearly found the net when a free-kick cannoned off the crossbar, and in truth he had a couple of chances to score on other occasions too.
