Cesar Azpilicueta – 6

Fairly solid but as has been shown a few times of late, he did struggle when he came up against the pace and energy of Ramadan Sobhi. Stoke clearly looked to exploit that but the Spaniard will certainly have had worse games in a Chelsea shirt.

David Luiz – 9

Brilliant performance from the Brazilian, who was calm with the ball at his feet and powerful in the air, refusing to show any sign of fear even after a nasty clash with Jonathan Walters in the first half. Had a role in the winning goal and went close with a free-kick from distance.

Gary Cahill – 8

Scored the winner certainly made up for his foul that led to Stoke equalising from the penalty spot. Unclear if it was a push or a clip of the ankles, the England international didn’t allow it to affect his game and he popped up with the winner at just the right time.
