How Arsenal’s players rated in their late defeat to Everton

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – Amidst talks about a new contract, the 23-year-old didn’t play well against Everton and has done nothing to consolidate his position in the first team. He couldn’t influence the game in the attacking half and was rightly substituted mid-way through the second half. 4

Alexis Sanchez – Another lively display from the league’s most in-form player. He scored the opening goal from a deflected free kick and continued to terrorise the Everton defence. The Chilean created several promising situations for his team, including one where Mesut Ozil blazed over from the edge of the area. 7

Alex Iwobi – The winger was enthusiastic after coming on and he offered a lot more than both Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. He had a shot cleared off the line in the dying seconds and will perhaps feel he should have done better. 6

Olivier Giroud – He couldn’t impact the game after coming on and didn’t hold the ball up when the ball was in the Everton half. 4

Lucas Perez – The Spaniard didn’t have enough time on the pitch to make an impact. N/A
