Gabriel Paulista – 6

Was solid when required but was fortunate to come up against a very disappointing Dimitri Payet who failed to have any influence on the game.

Shkodran Mustafi – 7

Started attacks from the back with his distribution and he didn’t allow Ashley Fletcher a moment’s peace when the ball did come his way. Often stepped up to help out the midfield when needed.

Laurent Koscielny – 7

When some of his teammates began to switch off, it was the Frenchman who was driving the team on in the closing stages. Had no problem at all up against a poor West Ham front line.

Nacho Monreal – 8

Got forward well as he teamed up with Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to exploit all of Edimilson Fernandes’ weaknesses in a display which showed all of his experience and quality.
