Mesut Ozil – 6

Anonymous in the first half, he was sparked into life in the second and took his goal well but once again failed to stamp his influence onto the game from start to finish. His goal will paper over the cracks in his display.

Olivier Giroud – 7

His physical presence was required even if he didn’t have much luck come his way when in front of goal himself, the service didn’t suit his style of play.

Alexis Sanchez – 8

His superbly executed free-kick was the highlight but he worked tirelessly throughout and it was his brilliant pass which set up the move for the second goal. Can be happy with his contribution.
