How Arsenal rated in their embarrassing 3-1 defeat to Liverpool

Francis Coquelin – 5

Foul after foul after foul after foul. The man is a walking yellow card and the only real surprise was that it took him more than half an hour to get his name in the book.

Granit Xhaka – 5

Sloppy in possession and wasteful when he had the opportunity to move the ball forwards. Booked for dissent in a display which typified the frustration of the evening for the Gunners.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 6

Very quiet for much of the game, he did what was asked of him but little more and moved central in the second half to tide things over with Alexis Sanchez much more effective out wide.

Alex Iwobi – 5

Little to no defensive awareness and was anonymous in attack, he still has time to reach his full potential but performances like this show just how far he has to come.

Danny Welbeck – 7

Took his first Premier League goal of the season superbly with a smart dink over Simon Mignolet and had great energy in the second half, but he was quiet in the first 45 without possession and struggled to add much defensive strength.
