How Arsenal rated in their embarrassing 3-1 defeat to Liverpool

Resting Alexis Sanchez was always going to be a big gamble by Arsene Wenger, and it really didn’t pay off. Liverpool were faster out of the starting blocks and had the Gunners pinned back, with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane on the scoresheet in the first half. There was a marked improvement when the Chilean was introduced in the second half, but even Danny Welbeck’s strike wasn’t enough with Georgino Wijnaldum sealing the win for Liverpool in injury time.

Petr Cech – 6

Made one great stop from Philippe Coutinho and another from Joel Matip, cannot be blamed for any of Liverpool’s goals but it is hard to praise the performance of a goalkeeper when they concede three.
