Arsenal’s Champions League hopes have taken a major hit on Monday as they were convincingly beaten by Crystal Palace.

This has been a fixture that the Gunners have done well in during recent seasons, but they were second best in every department at Selhurst Park and it was a difficult watch for the away supporters.

They now need to make up a seven-point deficit with only eight matches to go to finish in the top four. It is difficult to see them doing it unless they improve significantly. This defeat will increase the pressure on Arsene Wenger as speculation continues over his future.

Here are how their players rated at Selhurst Park on Monday night…

Emiliano Martinez – The third choice goalkeeper made a couple of good stops during the match, but he was at fault for the third goal. He was too rash in his decision making and rushed out to concede a penalty. Although Andros Townsend may have gone down easily, Martinez gave the referee a decision to make. 4

Hector Bellerin – The Spaniard was hard working and got up and down the right-hand side. However, his delivery was poor when he was in the final third, while he was given the run around by Andros Townsend in his own half. It was an evening to forget for the right back. 3

Shkodran Mustafi – He was probably the most impressive of the Arsenal defenders, but that isn’t much of a compliment. The German was cautioned and was caught out of position on a few occasions. He missed Laurent Koscielny. 5

Gabriel Paulista – The Brazilian doesn’t have the right attitude at times and he seemed to give up after the second goal was conceded. He doesn’t have the desire to fight when things aren’t going his way and for that reason, he is one who needs to be moved on in the summer. 3

Nacho Monreal – Like Bellerin, he worked hard for his side, but he didn’t have the required quality. He can’t be faulted for his application and he continued to do his all until the final whistle. The Spaniard made a good clearance to prevent a fourth goal. 6
