Arsenal had to deliver a convincing performance against Lincoln City to begin rebuilding their confidence ahead of the run-in and they managed to do that in the second half. They were frustrated before the break and it was evident that they were playing with fear, but a goal from Theo Walcott relieved the pressure at the perfect time. Although there are a lot of unanswered questions about the future direction of the club, they have managed to get to Wembley and that is something to celebrate. The second half performance was impressive, but only so much can be taken from a game against non-league opposition. Here are how the players rated in their victory over the non-league side.
Petr Cech – This was his first FA Cup appearance of the season and he managed to keep a clean sheet. He didn’t have a great deal to do, but he did manage to pull off a smart save to deny Nathan Arnold when the scores were level. 6
