Arsenal bounced back from consecutive losses with a workmanlike victory over a committed Hull City side at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
In a scrappy first-half where real chances were few-and-far-between, Alexis Sanchez gave the home side a controversial lead just before half-time when the ball appeared to bounce in off his arm.
Hull came out a rejuvenated side after half-time and launched a late onslaught on the Arsenal goal as they searched for an equaliser, twice going close through headers.
The home side put the result beyond doubt in injury-time when Sanchez secured his third consecutive double against Hull, slotting home from the spot after Sam Clucas stopped Lucas Perez’s goal-bound shot on the line with his arm to lift his side back up to third for at least 24 hours.

Petr Cech – After coming into some criticism after his performance against Chelsea, he produced a superb flying save early on to deny Hull a headed opener. Denied Niasse an equaliser with a strong push away, and looked like his usual confident self again. 7.
