Hosam Aiesh has told Swedish outlet FotbollSkanalen that there is “no smoke without fire” when asked about reports linked the Ostersunds star with both Leeds United and French side Amiens.
Back in June, Fotboll Direkt claimed that Leeds were scouting both Aiesh and striker Dino Islamovic after the duo starred in the Europa League under Graham Potter and were impressing in Sweden’s top tier.
Both Aiesh and Islamovic scored on Sunday to beat Norrkping 2-1 at home, with Aiesh netting a 93rd-minute winner and Marcelo Bielsa is likely to have been impressed had he watched the duo.
Aiesh was asked after the match if there was any interest in his services over a move to either Leeds or Amiens, and he hinted that he could be on his way this summer after 15 goals and 24 assists in 108 matches for Ostersunds.

“There is no smoke without fire,” Aiesh said. “There are clubs that are right, then there are clubs that I do not know if that is true. They can be interested and watch matches without me knowing about it.
“I actually keep track of who is sitting in the stands. But there is great interest and there have been many phone calls about my location. It looks positive, but if it does not happen now, I will continue to perform here in Östersund.”
TBR’s view – Number 10 Aiesh no longer needed by Leeds
That is because the club have netted one of the deals of the Championship window by bringing in Helder Costa from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer, on a four-year deal worth £15million.
Leeds have also brought Jack Harrison back from Manchester City on a loan-to-buy deal, as well as Jack Clarke on loan from Tottenham after the north London club bought Clarke permanently.
Leeds are well stocked out wide and if the Whites are going to strengthen, it will be at centre-back or up front. Aiesh is an excellent player, but Leeds do not need him.
