Ryan Hardie scored last night to ensure Livingston retained their status as a Scottish Premiership side.

Hardie is on loan from Rangers and is enjoying another successful season with Livingston after helping them to promotion last term.

The 21-year-old scored eight goals in 14 Scottish Championship games last season to guide Livingston back to the top-flight.

And his tally of seven goals in 16 league games this season has helped Livingston stay afloat in the Scottish Premiership.

The Scotland under-21 international’s next career step will be to try to break into the Rangers first-team set-up.

Steven Gerrard ran the rule over Hardie in January before deciding to send him back on loan to Livingston.

But his goalscoring exploits could earn the young striker a place in the squad next season at Ibrox. Gerrard would have been impressed with Hardie’s goal last night, just as many Rangers fans were.

Here are some of the best tweets from Rangers fans in reaction to Hardie’s goalscoring display for Livingston last night.
