A number of Everton fans have criticised Alan Shearer for not naming Toffees ace Lucas Digne in his latest Premier League Team of the Week.
The 27-year-old, one of Everton’s best players, has been in especially inspired form this season, once again shining for Carlo Ancelotti’s side in their weekend win at Fulham.
Digne, who wore the captain’s armband in Seamus Coleman’s absence, doubled his assist tally for the campaign by notching up two on Sunday.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring in the first minute before Bobby Decordova-Reid equalised on the quarter-hour mark, but Everton were 3-1 up by half time thanks to Digne’s heroics.
The Frenchman crossed low for Calvert-Lewin to guide his second of the day past Alphonse Areola on 29 minutes, before whipping in for the unmarked Abdoulaye Doucoure to head home in the 35th minute.
Admittedly, Digne was beaten by Ademola Lookman a few times, but overall he had a superb game as the Toffees hung on for victory after Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored in the 70th minute.
Despite the former Barcelona man’s impressive performance, Alan Shearer had just one Everton player in his XI – Calvert-Lewin – while the left-back spot went to Andrew Robertson.

Needless to say, some Evertonians were not all that impressed with the former Newcastle and England man:
