According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are set to offer Christian Eriksen a new contract in a bid to keep him at the club. Spurs are apparently planning to offer the Dane a new deal worth £200,000 per week.
Eriksen has recently been linked with a switch to Real Madrid, as reported by the Independent. However, Mauricio Pochettino is keen to keep the 27-year-old at White Hart Lane. That being said, Eriksen only has one year to run on his current deal, so time is running out for Spurs to cash in on him.
Eriksen has been with the north London club since his arrival from Ajax in 2013. He has since developed into one of the Premier League’s best attacking midfielders. In 206 top flight appearances in English football, Eriksen has racked up an impressive 49 goals and 64 assists.
The 89-cap Denmark international has proven himself to be world class. He certainly has the quality to shine at Real Madrid and he would command huge wages there. Spurs will hope that their latest offer is enough to tempt him to stay. However, not all Tottenham fans want Eriksen to stay, as they believe his heart is set on a switch to the La Liga giants.
Following the emergence of reports that Eriksen has been offered a new contract, plenty of Spurs fans took to Twitter to give their reactions to the development.
Let him leave he doesn’t wanna be here. We don’t need people who don’t want to be here they will screw us over in the end.

Hope he accepts it, he’s a great midfielder and brings a lot to our team. Cant afford to lose him. We cant forget what he has done for us over the past few seasons so he deserves to be on that kind of money. If we want to keep our best players we need to give them more.

He’s gone missing in too many games. Champions league final being the most egregious.

Id rather give it to Toby

Let him leave, what is the point of keeping someone who’s clearly lost the passion for the role. He is a fantastic player but we’ll never benefit from it as his heart isn’t there any more.

I’d happily not sign Lo Celso to see him sign that deal
