You don’t need us to tell you this but Arsenal are in poor form right now.
The Gunners have lost three games in a row, and there appears to be a serious crisis of confidence among the squad at the Emirates.
Indeed, nobody at Arsenal seems to be playing with much conviction at the moment, and one player who is clearly suffering is Kai Havertz.
Speaking to Off The Ball, John Giles has been discussing Arsenal’s issues at the moment, and he says that Havertz looks as though his confidence is absolutely shattered at the moment.

Havertz has no confidence
Giles shared his verdict on the German
“They don’t look it at the moment. Who is there who you can depend on to score the goals? They don’t look like they have, Havertz, he looks as if his confidence is shattered, watching the game against Liverpool, they made chance after chance, and he had about three chances and he mis-controlled the ball on three occasions, which is the worst thing you can do as a striker, whether he’s nervous, it doesn’t matter, if he’s not scoring goals, he’s not scoring goals,” Giles said.
Back to square one
This has been the story of Havertz’s Arsenal career to date.
He’s not had any confidence on the pitch since arriving in north London, and while he found a bit of form in late November, he appears to be back to square one now.
Havertz had seemingly found a bit of rhythm at Arsenal after scoring crucial goals against Brentford and Luton, but now, he’s back to where he started and it may take him some time to rediscover any semblance of form.
Havertz isn’t the only player at Arsenal who’s struggling at the moment, but it has to be said that he does look like he’s lost a bit of self belief in recent weeks as Arsenal continue to lose games and drop points.
