'His agent's working on stuff': Journalist claims another Spurs ace is 'intent' on leaving N17
Alasdair Gold has reiterated Serge Aurier’s desire to leave Spurs and claimed his agent is actively working to secure him a move.
Tottenham announced Toby Alderweireld’s move away from N17 on Tuesday, the Belgian joining Qatari club Al-Duhail.
Meanwhile, Aurier’s future at Spurs remains uncertain – according to The Athletic, the club has made him available for transfer.
Spurs ace wants to leave – he’s “made that very clear”
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Gold provided an update on the 28-year-old full-back’s current situation.
“Serge Aurier is very much intent on leaving the club, has made that very clear to them,” he said.
“I think his agent’s working on stuff.
“Tottenham, as I understand it, there isn’t a bid in for him right now.
“But I think his agent is very much trying to sort a move for him.”
Aurier moved to Tottenham in 2017 from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth around £23million.
His contract, worth a reported £70,000-a-week, runs until the summer of 2022.
To date, the Ivory Coast international has made 110 appearances in all competitions for Spurs, including 27 last season.
However, Aurier has made the occasional mistake at the back, with fans sometimes questioning whether he could offer as much in defence as he did going forward.
