A number of Crystal Palace fans have given their thoughts on the speculation linking Valerien Ismael with the Selhurst Park hotseat.
Roy Hodgson is out of contract in the summer, and he has said he would discuss his future when the time was right.
Given his uncertain future at Palace, the club hierarchy are thought to have drawn up a list of potential replacements if he does decide to leave.
According to The Telegraph, Ismael – manager of Championship side Barnsley and a former Eagles player – is one of the coaches on the Palace radar.
The Frenchman joined the Tykes in October last year and has turned the Yorkshire side into playoff contenders with a 62 percent winning record.
Prior to taking the Barnsley reins, Ismael managed Austria’s LASK Linz, and previously coached a number of German sides including Wolfsburg, Nurnberg and Hanover’s second string.
What have Palace fans made of reported interest in the 45-year-old? Here are some comments on social media:

Would be a massive gamble but has done wonders at Barnsley in his short time there. Too soon for him though in my opinion

About a 90% chance he’ll do that he must of wanted De Boer for a reason but never know.

This would be a fantastic hire by Palace and Valerien Ismael is a former Crystal Palace player! What he’s done at Barnsley is incredible and very impressive. https://t.co/YScfZXyx5R
